Right First Time?

• The Industry does not have a good reputation.

  • There are many reasons for this:

  • Education emphasis in the UK

  • Non-certification of companies and labour

  • Poor safety performance

  • Low barriers to entry

  • Separation of design and production

  • Poor advice to Clients by Professions

All of these will impact on quality of results.

Cannot cover all of these issues in one session.

• Therefore focus will be on PROCESS

  • Will examine three real projects

  • Review process and inter-relationships between Client, Advisors, Designers and Contractors

  • Look at results for the parties

  • Draw lessons from failure and success
